Music For Your Face - The Who                                                                                May 11, 2008

Today's musical feast is brought to you from 1978, complete with mutton chop sideburns and all. It's The Who and their incredible hit Join Together.

This is a great song that really showcases Pete Townsend's guitar. There are also some great shots of Keith Moon, who died in 1978.

As a side note: Keith Moon died of an overdose in the same room in which Cass Elliot died of heart failure four years earlier. The room was in a flat owned by Harry Nilsson who ended up selling the flat to Pete Townsend after Moon's death.

Matt Damon Won't Be In Bourne Game                                                                    May 11, 2008

criminalAccording to MTV, Matt Damon will not appear in the upcoming "Bourne" video game. This startling news has caused millions of gamers to shrug their shoulders and yawn.

From the article:

"I lobbied hard to not make a first-person-shooter game but to make it more like 'Myst,' which was a great, interesting puzzle you tried to solve — you know, to play with his amnesia or his memory," [Damon] told the publication. "They weren't interested. They made the [game] anyway, without my likeness."

So, the developers wanted a shooter and Damon wanted a fifteen year old "puzzle game"? Maybe Damon should spend a little more time playing GTA IV and less time playing dress up with his dolls.

The Justin Bailey Conspiracy                                                                                    May 11, 2008

Here's a video spoof on the "Justin Bailey" code which removed the clothes of Samus, the main character in Nintendo's original Metroid. The video is seriously nerdy, but it's pretty funny, too.

The guy in the vid is an even bigger spaz than I am, which is cool, and he reveals that Mario's Princess Peach has a HUGE secret.

Check it out.

Grand Theft Auto IV's Verizon Spoof                                                                       May 11, 2008

satan lesbianWhile driving around Liberty City in my stolen vehicle, evading the police and running over pedestrians, I occasionally hear an ad on the radio that is one of my favorite parts of Grand Theft Auto IV, a verizon wireless spoof.

The ad is for Wiz Wireless, and is about sending pictures of your "junk" to your girlfriend with greater ease. The part that cracks me up is at the end of the ad when the guy says: "Can you see my junk now? Good!" Funny stuff. I'm very mature and sophisticated.

Ten Thousand Marios                                                                                               May 11, 2008

bronze marioIf you're into vintage video game memorabilia head over to the Online Video Game Museum and check out this guy's stash. He's collected and estimated ten to fifteen thousand pieces.

It's an interesting place to check out. This guy has everything. He even has a counterfeit section. My guess is that he's a little obsessive-compulsive, but what the hell do I know?

Besides, who am I to judge? I spend all my time surfing the web for semi-naked gamer girl pix to post on my site. I'm not saying that's a bad thing.

In New Zealand: Don't Buy Games For Minors!                                                        May 11, 2008

duck scamNew Zealand rates mature video games R-18 and you have to be eighteen, obviously, to buy them. Any adult who buys an R-18 video game for a minor faces a $10,000 fine and three months in jail.

From an article on stuff:

As part of its research Parentline conducted a sting of 10 Hamilton gaming outlets. In each case, staff in those stores refused to supply the restricted game to an under-age person. However, when an adult researcher went in, requesting GTA for an 11-year-old grandson, in eight out of 10 stores they were supplied the game, implying there is perhaps confusion about the ratings restriction if adults are present when children are playing. However, parents who buy GTA or any R18 video game for their children are committing a criminal act.

My advice to underaged New Zealanders: Stick with Lego Star Wars for a few more years.

Gears Of War 2 Gameplay Trailer                                                                              May 11, 2008

Here we have a video revealing a few minutes of game play of Gears of War 2 on the XBox 360 and it looks really cool.

I can't wait for this game to come out. The graphics look amazing and the game play looks pretty intense. At around the 2:00 mark the gamer kills a monster and then picks him up and uses his corpse as a shield. This entire vid is awesome. Check it out.

She looks so happy to see me. Don't you think? Maybe she wants to be my girlfriend. That's probably it.
