Hey Gamers! You May Never Have To Buy Another Console Ever Again! March 26, 2009
There is a new gaming device called OnLive. It was created by Palo Alto. It is basically a little box, no bigger than a Nintendo DS which you can connect to your TV and home broadband connection. You can stream games to your TV. You will never ever have to have that huge, noisy, clunky console taking up all that space in your room ever again! You won't ever have to install anything! You will never have to download anything!
Well, a few people have tested Burnout Paradise and Crysis: Warhead (which requires a huge high tech PC) and that worked great too! OnLive has already made deals with EA, Ubisoft, and Take-Two to start distributing games on OnLive. The games that are on OnLive right now include Grand Theft Auto IV, Mirror's Edge, and LEGO Batman.
There is a downside to OnLive. If you have a bad connection, you'll probably never be able to stream any games. If you have an excellent connection, you shouldn't have any problems at all.
OnLive says they aren't thinking about how much the service will cost but they will compete with subscriptions such as Xbox Live.
